A landmark brewpub, and a solid family favorite. We stop here every time we're in the area. Beers range from solid standards like the Porter and pilsner to brilliantly adventuresome experiments. A consistently excellent beer range. Food is similarly smart and well-executed, service has always been top-notch. Top Ten.

CBC is a solid spot to grab a bite and enjoy a couple unique beers. They brew a wide variety of beers, so all tastes can be satisfied. I do not believe you can get their beer anywhere else, so it's worth stopping in to try their offerings. The food is good. It's a little on the expensive side for what it is (high end pub fare), but the beer is main attraction. The atmosphere is usually good if maybe a little crowded. Servers sometimes seem a little annoyed by people being there and being indecisive about what to order, which can be offputting but the service is still reasonably quick. It's worth checking out if you're looking for a casual meal and beer in Cambridge.

They always have great beer on tap. You'll never be bored. The beer is always changing and they try to be creative: smoked porters, beers brewed with bottle cap candy, and yuzu flavored beers. Don't miss the chicken tenders and the root beer nachos!

While I am not huge on their standard beers, their rotating and special event / special release beers are great. Food is also consistently good. The patio / courtyard space is great when the weather is nice out. If you're ever in the Kendall Square area this is a great option.

Good beer. I had a good time here. The wings are SUPER spicy. A little too spicy for me to actually taste the flavor and enjoy.

Cambridge Brewing Company is a great, chill place to grab a beer and some pub food before heading to a movie at Kendall Cinema. I wouldn't go here on a...

Sgt. Pepper

Saison / Farmhouse Ale

Brewed with Pilsner, CaraVienne, and Rye malts, plus Magnum and Spalter hops. But the driving force behind this beer is the contribution from whole Black, Green, White, and Pink peppercorns. Added to the brewkettle, these four fab peppercorns harmonize with spicy hops while the malted rye and our Belgian yeast hold down the backbeat.

Spring Training IPA

IPA - American

You want an IPA, you’ve got one, but with a twist! “Spring Training” breezes in like a breath of fresh air, ready to awaken your senses from a long, cold winter. Crafted primarily of New England-grown pale malts, the recipe also incorporates Belgian carapils and wheat malts to contribute to the beer’s complex body and straw-golden color. Ahtanum and Palisades hops, both relative newcomers on the hop varietal scene, were chosen for their essence of wildflowers and freshly-cut grass, evocative of springtime breezes. This is in contrast to the piney, earthy and resiny characteristics of most IPAs. In addition to extensive kettle hopping the beer is dry-hopped with even Ahtanums to satisfy your hop-craving.

You Enjoy My Stout

Stout - Russian Imperial

THE CROWD GOES WILD! A smooth bass line of roasted notes establishes the deep end beneath arpeggios of complex chocolate malt, while power chords of caramelized grain open up to an extended malty jam. Black barley teases treacle character and wades into a velvety sea of oak-derived vanilla and toasted coconut tones. Sustained improvisation of fruitiness modulates to an intense finale, and encores with a rich, espresso-roasted reprise, a capella.

Heather Ale

Spiced / Herbed Beer

The best day of the year comes once every summer when the Brew Crew and friends travel to Westport on Massachusetts’ Atlantic Coast to pick fresh heather flowers. After a long day of toiling in the sun, we hustle home and add them to the kettle to create our world famous Heather Ale.Brewed with imported Scottish floor-malted barley, fresh hand-harvested heather flowers are added to the kettle during the boil along with sweet gale and lavender, with a further addition of fresh heather and yarrow to the conditioning tanks.

Every batch of CBC HefeWeizen is brewed with Massachusetts-grown organic wheat, which has been malted for us by our friends in Hadley, MA at Valley Malt. By the way, Weisse (white) and Weizen (wheat) are two interchangeable terms in regards to naming this style, and the words mit hefe (with yeast) indicate that this is an unfiltered beer. So enjoy your summer with a cold CBC HefeWeizen, and show your support for sustainable, organic farms and small businesses in Massachusetts!

Le Saisonniere

Saison / Farmhouse Ale

Our grisette is a hazy, bright gold from a complex grist of organic pilsner and wheat malts, plus organic oats, rye, and buckwheat. Subtly hopped with Spalt and Hallertauer hops which contribute balance and a hint of floral character, though the grains are really on display. Tart fruity, spicy grain flavors come from the rye and buckwheat and are bolstered by spice notes and hints of citrus from a special guest yeast strain, that of the famous Brasserie d’Achouffe. A session beer with Belgian ancestry, this seemingly simple biére de table is surprisingly complex. Served in a traditional tulip glass to emphasize the glowing effervescence and special nature of this delightful little beer

Barleywine - American

An arquebus was a primitive firearm which came into use in the 15th Century, and was a predecessor to the musket and rifle. A smoothbore with a flared muzzle, similar but more refined and accurate than its predecessor the Blunderbuss (ah, there’s the thematic association, Blunderbuss being our winter barleywine…)

Barleywine - American

Once again the brewers at CBC have thrown caution to the wind in our latest annual effort to create the biggest, baddest, strongest, bestest beer around. Double-mashed with nearly a ton of malt, five different hops, and cold-aged several months with French Limousine oak, this extraordinary, complex ale boasts flavors and aromas of caramel, dried fruit, vanilla, oak, toffee, spicy hops, and a warming alcohol finish. Very rich and full-bodied, it is unfiltered and unfined.
